BEC Programs
Academic Tutoring
Research-based curriculums are used to provide critical instruction in reading and math. Pre and post assessments are administered to determine that learning is taking place and students will exhibit growth through routine progress monitoring. Progress reports will be provided to parents monthly.

Home School Assistance
Homeschool assistance provides families with the support of a certified teacher, offering reading remediation strategies, reading screenings, and progress monitoring to families who educate in the home. BEC Provides support to parents who home school and can work directly with the student on specific academic areas.
IEP Advocacy Services
An IEP advocate can provide families with information to fully understand the IEP process. The information an advocate provides allows families to participate in making educational decisions for their learner as a fully contributing member of the team. A special education advocate can help families understand the full range of options available to them and help with effective communication with the student’s IEP team. These services can have several beneficial outcomes for families. Getting help from an advocate can assist in reducing stress and the feeling of becoming overwhelmed.

• Review of current IEP to ensure student needs are being met and suggestions for areas of
improvement
•ï‚· Inform parents about rules and procedures
ï‚·• Help to interpret information and other sources of data
•ï‚· Help to ensure effective communication between parents and the IEP team
ï‚·• Offer guidance and understanding of the full range of available options
ï‚·• IEP court advocacy is available for an additional fee
Executive Functioning Tutoring
Executive functions are the set of cognitive skills that help a person control their actions and emotions to complete tasks. There are 8 executive functions that regulate what a person does in daily life: self-control, emotional control, task initiation, working memory, self-monitoring, flexibility, organization, and planning & time management. Teens and young adults struggling BEC Programs with underdeveloped or delays in executive functioning will learn new strategies and behaviors
to promote academic and vocational success.
Individual sessions consist of one student and one tutor.

Group sessions consist of up to 4 students and 1 tutor.
Homeschool assistance provides support with a single concept being taught in the homeschool setting.
Guidance and support to families to review or create IEPs that meet their child’s needs.
